Playlovers proudly presents a musical youth production ‘The Western Jukebox’.

Radio station, PLAY FM’s Country and Western “Hour of Power” is sure to tickle your Texan funny bone and then be taken on an educational journey through the world of the Jukebox musical with a little bit of audience input thrown in for good measure!

Act One takes you on an eclectic Country and Western musical journey with songs like Just Blew In From The Windy City, from the 1950s movie musical Calamity Jane, and Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 through to Bon Jovi’s classic hit Wanted, Dead or Alive.  The vehicle for this musical tour is through radio station PLAY FM’s  Country and Western Hour of Power.  Radio DJs Ellie-Mae and Stevie-Ray introduce us to the sounds of Country and Western with the normal mad-cap antics of a live-cross to a roving reporter at the Loredo Community Hall, and a caller who wins a prize that brings back memories of a childhood sweetheart.

Act Two will take you through the wonderful world of the Jukebox musical.  We’ve all sung our hearts out to tunes from Mamma Mia and We Will Rock You, but there are so many more out there that fit this genre!  The cast will take you on an educational odyssey detailing the different types of Jukebox musical and performing songs from a number of these shows. There is, though, a twist! The audience will have the opportunity to affect the order of 5 of the songs via an audience vote conducted before the show begins. This is sure to be a challenge that the cast of The Jukebox Musical is willing to accept! Are you prepared to accept your part of the challenge?
