UPDATE ON HACKETT HALL
The following article about the City of Nedlands plans for Hackett Hall appears on page 14 of the Post community newspaper, dated February 4, 2017 . It isn’t saying anything new but now we have it in black and white.
We would encourage you to contact the Senior Community Development Officer (contact details as in the article), to be advised when the consultant is appointed and to find out how your views on “community needs” can be presented.

HACKETT HALL UPDATE In late 2016, Hackett Hall was closed for safety concerns about its structural integrity. An independent report found that structural problems with the roof made the building unsafe. Putting public safety first, the City decided to close the building temporarily, giving time to consider the future of the building
The next step is for the City is to appoint an independent consultant to conduct a Community Needs Analysis in relation to a community facility in the area, by identifying what the community needs are now and are likely to be into the future. The City expects to appoint the consultant in March 2017.
Following that, community members and user groups will be able to express their views and needs to the consultant.
The consultant will then report their findings to the City, so that Council can make an informed decision about the future of Hackett Hall.
