A quintessentially English comedy
Best described as a cross between high farce and a comedy of manners, the play is set in an English country house in the 1920s, and deals with the four eccentric members of the Bliss family and their outlandish behaviour when they each invite a guest to spend the weekend.
This is the first time Jenny has directed for Playlovers, but she is well known to theatre audiences across Australia. She was awarded the O.A.M. (Order of Australia Medal) in the 2009 Queen’s New Years Honours List for her services to the performing arts, particularly theatre, as a director, actor and mentor of young artists.
