Farewell To Hackett Hall – March, 2023

TIME CALLED ON PLAYLOVERS' HOME

 

It is with much sadness I write to inform you that, as of Friday 17 March 2023, Hackett Hall ceased to be Playlovers home venue.

For the last 6.5 years, Playlovers has been in a desperate fight for its home of over 60 years, and sadly this fight has ended!

On Sunday 11th February 2018, Playlovers will hold the annual Plover Awards followed by the Annual General Meeting This will  commence at  6.30 pm in the Scout Hall (just beside Hackett Hall), Draper Street, Floreat, and will be followed by drinks and nibbles.  (Venue to be confirmed.) All members and those interested in the future of Playlovers are encouraged to attend. Playlovers win!

It is with great pleasure that I can announce that Playlovers has won their stoush with the City of Nedlands, and the Hackett Hall lockout is over! An article from last week's Post newspaper tells the tale. Our ‘knight in shining armour’, Mark Burns, delivered our home back into our hands with a resounding win at the State Administrative Tribunal recently. (more…)
