A Season of One-Act Plays

N.B. The venue has been changed to the Studio at the Subiaco Arts Centre (see below). There will be no Sunday matinee.

The season will run 9th and 10th, September  at 8pm. 

This year we have 3 quite different one-act plays

 

“Early Man”

by Hannah Vincent

Directed by Kimberley Shaw

The play centers around a class excursion to the museum, where Sam discovers something completely unexpected – a 2,000 year-old Bog Boy.

“Little Brother: Little Sister”

Imagine Hansel and Gretel stuck in a nuclear fall-out shelter, stuck with a doddery, sadistic witch of a cook. Add rissoles, a sharpened meat cleaver and a ‘healthy’ amount of incest, and you might have something which resembles this play!

“Hello Out There”

by William Saroyan

Directed by Sharon Greenock

A one-act play by American playwright and author William Saroyan

A young man is in jail as a result of a married woman accusing him of rape. In jail he meets young Emily, the jail cook. It is love at first sight, and quickly the young couple make plans for their future. But the husband of the accuser and some of the townsfolk have other plans.
