An hilarious musical about growing up – “filled with radioactive energy”
13, a musical with music and lyrics by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown, was the first Broadway show to star an all teenage cast and band.
With a book by award winning children’s author and songwriter Dan Elish (“Born Too Short, Confessions of an 8th Grade Basket Case”) and veteran writer for TV and film, Robert Horn (“Designing Women”), 13 is a grown-up story about growing up. The cast is comprised entirely of teenagers, but the stories that come to life here are ageless, the emotions they explore timeless, the laughter and the memories they provide priceless.
Synopsis:
Evan Goldman has it all – he’s popular, has the perfect family and lives in the greatest city in the world – New York. That is until his parents get divorced and he’s forced to move with his Mom… to Indiana. Uprooted from his old life, he just wants to make friends and survive the school year. Easier said than done. The most popular guy in school is threatening to ruin his life, and his only friend, Patrice, won’t talk to him. The school freak sees an opportunity for blackmail, and someone is spreading the nastiest rumors…..
13 is being presented as part of the Fringe Festival 2015 at Hackett Hall
