Tsunami Fundraiser

Our fundraising evening on Saturday, January 29 2005 was a huge success, both in the amount of money we managed to raise and the amount of fun and enjoyment everyone had. There were over 170 in the audience, many of whom had never been to Playlovers before. But having seen the calibre of performance on Saturday, they will be back for more!
Thanks and congratulations must go to Janelle Hammond and her team who worked tirelessly both on the night and in the weeks leading up to it. And to the various performers who, with virtually no rehearsal, put on a quality show , brilliantly (in both senses of the word!) MCd by David Young.

All proceeds from the evenng went to the Save The Children's Earthquake / Tsunami Appeal. A representative from the association was there to collect the money at the end of the night.

So how much did we raise?

$5,311.55

And remember, for every dollar raised, HBF has promised to equal it.

We also filled 8 boxes for Father Brian, along with 3 tarpaulin tents.
We would like to thank all the organisations who so generously donated goods and services that could be auctioned and raffled. A list of these sponsors will appear here shortly.

A final thankyou to all our members, and friends, who contributed so generously throughout the evening. It is an extremely worthwhile cause.
